Shawney and her exciting adventure

Flat Stanleys weekend with Shawney
Fri 17 – Sun 19 2011.

Hi everyone I’m Flat Stanley and I had a great adventure with Shawney. On Friday we went to Shawney’s nana’s house. It was fun. We watched a bit of TV and we played with Shawney’s older cousin Philipa. The best part was playing with the ball inside. Her grandad won’t let us play with the ball inside but he wasn’t home so Nana said we could just this once. Then we had to go home and have a good nights sleep because the next day we were off to Tauranga with her mum and her Aunty Claire.
What an exciting day! First we went to Farmers to do some clothes shopping for Shawney. I tried on some pants but they were too big for me so Shawney tried them on instead and they fitted perfectly. Shawney was very happy because she got to pick out some clothes that she liked.
Then we were off to find a shop that would pierce her ears. We found one shop that would do it but they wanted identification to prove that she was five and her mum didn’t have any with her. This made Shawney a bit sad, but her mum said not to worry we’d keep looking. We finally found one and Shawney was rapt. She chose a very nice pair of ladybird earrings to have them pierced with. She was a little bit sad at first because it hurt a little bit, so I cheered her up and we had a photo with her new earrings.
Shawney was so brave that her mum took us to Burger King for lunch. Shawney even shared her lunch with me that was very kind of her. We had chicken tenders, chips and a chocolate milkshake and on the way out we got an ice-cream.
Next we went to the park. It was starting to rain so I decided to stay in the car while Shawney got out and went for a run outside on the grass. I was happy because I could see the beautiful fountain near the car. Then we went back to Matamata and picked up her older cousin, Cheyenne because she was moving in with them for a little while. When we got home Shawney and I were exhausted, man did we sleep well that night.
The rest of the weekend we just relaxed; we watched some movies on TV and Shawney helped her mum with some baking. Then Shawney was a bit unhappy with her mum because she said we had to go to bed to get some sleep as we had, had a long week at school. So finally off we went to bed and had a very good sleep.
So now here I am back at school, I’m so glad because I’m exhausted from my great adventure with Shawney and her family. I think I‘m going to have to rest for the whole rest of the week so that I’m ready for whatever adventure I go on next.
Thank you for taking me home with you Shawney, I had a great time and I’d love to do it again sometime soon.

Love Flat Stanley
