Flat Stanley and Conor cruise to the Coromandel

Friday 4 March to Sunday 6 March
Flat Stanley’s Coromandel Adventure

Off to the Coromandel I went with Conor and his family for Conor’s cousins 9th birthday!!!
What a long car ride, I felt a bit car sick but luckily Conor’s Mum was driving and she gave us all some car sickness tablets which helped a lot and after a bit of a sleep we arrived in Coromandel Town.
After a good night sleep we were ready to celebrate Elliot (Conor’s cousins) birthday.  I was so excited and got to open some presents with Elliot and then it was time for the party food….yummy we ate so much that we all felt sick.
Next we went to Whangapoua Beach in the pouring rain to do some boogie boarding, I got to ride the waves with Conor on his cool shark board but boy it was cold so we got out quite quickly and decided to go and play on the playground.  Weeeeeeeeeeee down the slide I went and really hurt myself when I hit the ground, luckily Elliot’s Mum is a Rural Nurse Specialist in the Coromandel and she was able to fix me up again.
Boy we were tired after all that excitement for the day, but when we went to bed I couldn’t sleep but Conor was asleep straight away so Conor’s Mum snuck in and took a photo of Conor sleeping I was just about blinded by the flash on the camera, Conor didn’t even wake up.
Next day we went and tried some fishing in the goldfish pond, that was until we were told off by Conor’s aunty, I don’t think she wanted the goldfish caught!  We went and played on the scooters instead……what a full on weekend.
Time to drive home again to have a big sleep so Conor doesn’t fall asleep in class on Monday, I don’t think Ms Daniels would like him to do that!
Where to next???................

  1. Wow Flat Stanley it sounds as though you had an awesome time in the Coromandel with my lovely nephew Conor!! I loved seeing all the photos of you & Conor especially on the surfboard.

Conor has kindly sent you down to the South Island to have some adventures with me at Rotherham School so we will start to write about all the fun times you will have with our class.
